Corona incidence increases to around 950 – more than 7200 new cases

Berlin remains the federal state with the second highest corona numbers. In the past seven days, 949.8 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants were registered, as the health administration announced on Friday. According to the Robert Koch Institute, the so-called seven-day incidence is only higher in Bremen. On Thursday the incidence in Berlin was 918.6, on Wednesday it was around 856. A week ago a value of 511.5 was reported. Four Berlin districts also recorded incidences of more than 1000: Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg has the highest value , where the incidence increased from 1398 to 1520.7. Behind them are Neukölln (1373.3), Mitte (1192.0) and Reinickendorf (1155.9). In a comparison of the districts of the Robert Koch Institute, only Bremen has a higher incidence nationwide, the four districts are directly behind it in second to fifth place. Data from Marzahn-Hellersdorf are not included in the Berlin figures in the management report on Friday. The district is not transmitting any data due to a technical fault, it said.
Citywide, 7238 new corona infections were registered and five other deaths. According to the management report, the highest number of cases was transmitted by Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg (1166) and Neukölln (1004). According to the health administration, the proportion of places in intensive care units required for Covid patients is 18.8 percent. The hospitalization incidence (number of hospital admissions in connection with Corona per 100,000 inhabitants within one week) is 11.2. There are 694 Covid patients in inpatient treatment (as of Thursday afternoon), 204 of them are receiving intensive care.Since the outbreak The pandemic has infected 388,590 people in the city, more than one in ten residents. A good three quarters of Berliners have now been vaccinated against the corona virus at least once (75.9 percent). 73.2 percent are considered fully vaccinated.
