She had an accident in which a girl died. Then another woman, pretending to be a police officer, made the call. She informed the person called that she would have to pay a sum of 130,000 euros to have her daughter released. During the phone call, the perpetrators managed to find out personal information about the person called and the name and place of residence of their daughter by asking specific, inconspicuous questions.
